1) This archival, hand-sewn journal/sketchbook is made from 80 gsm Mohawk Superfine archival paper stitched with Irish linen thread in the linked pattern that was developed by the ancient Copts. This stitch allows the book to lay open easily at any page.
This book’s endbands and bookmark are Alran French goatskin. The book is half-leathered in Alran French goatskin processed at Rocky Mountain Leather Supply in Utah, and its boards are wrapped in a 1956 map of the United States of America.
The talisman in this book is a 1945 pendant commemorating France’s assistance to Belgium during WWII. Its obverse reads, “A ses combatants victorioux la Belgique Liberee Reconnisante—Bevrid en Erkente lijk België an Zijn Zege Vierende Strijders.”
