This archival, hand-sewn journal/sketchbook is made from 100 gsm, white Hahnemühle Ingres mouldmade paper from Dassel, Germany, made on the same site since 1584.  It is sewn with Irish linen thread in the linked stitch pattern that was developed by the ancient Copts.  This stitch allows the book to lay open easily at any page.

 The book’s endbands are black and white cotton, and its bookmark is goatskin. Its boards are wrapped in a 1954 blueprint from the Kyger Creek Power Station in Cheshire, Ohio, and its spine is covered in pigskin from Landwerlen Leathers in Indianapolis.

The talisman in this book is a 1978 French medallion celebrating 50 years in business for Groupe Groupe Societe Generale Financement des Investments.  Societe Generale Financement des Investments. The Societe General Bank remains France’s third largest banking concern.
