$200.00

This archival, hand-sewn journal/sketchbook is made from 100 gsm, white Hahnemühle Ingres mouldmade paper from Dassel, Germany since 1584, sewn with Irish linen thread in the linked pattern that was developed by the ancient Copts. This stitch allows the book to lay open easily at any page.

This book’s endbands are blue and gold silk, and its bookmark is goatskin.  Its boards are wrapped in washi paper that was hand silk-screened, in Japan in a factory where kimono silks are printed, and its spine is covered in Alran French goatskin, processed at Rocky Mountain Leather Supply in Utah.

The talisman in this book is an art-deco French medallion depicting two on a boat in a river. There is a bridge to their side, and a line of trees on the bank opposite.  The seated man is preparing his line, and the standing man is casting. Henry David Thoreau said, “Time is but the stream I go a-fishing in.  I drink at it; but while I drink I see the sandy bottom and detect how shallow it is.”

The custom slip cover is included with this book.
