This archival, hand-sewn journal/sketchbook is made from 100 gsm, white Hahnemühle Ingres mouldmade paper from Dassel, Germany, made on the same site since 1584.  It is sewn with Irish linen thread in the linked stitch pattern that was developed by the ancient Copts.  This stitch allows the book to lay open easily at any page.

The book’s endbands and bookmark are goatskin. Its boards are wrapped in paper that was hand-marbled by Jemma Lewis in Whiltshire, England.  The book is half-cloth, covered in Dubletta cloth from the Netherlands.

The talisman in this book is a souvenir of the 1921 Centennial Exposition in Durazno, Uruguay.  Its obverse reads “Exposicion del Centenario, Sociedad Rural de Duranzno, 1921.”
