This album is made from archival Hahnemühle Ingres mould-made paper, sewn with waxed Irish linen thread in an intricate pattern modeled on the ancient “long stitch” journal methods.

The spine of this album is made from goatskin, and its boards are wrapped in a 1966 map of Southern California.

The talisman in this book is a 1925 Buffalo nickel.  In 1925 Santa Barbara and San Clemente were hit by powerful earthquakes, and people began to predict that the state would fall into the Pacific Ocean.  It’s still part of the lower 48.  The future may be longer than we know.
