Its endbands are blue and white cotton, and its bookmark is blue satin ribbon.  Its spine covered in pale green Dubletta bookcloth, and its boards are wrapped in a 1949 map of Europe.

The talisman in this book is 50 Cent Euro coin, featuring the Roman equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius.  Aurelius was the last of the “Five Good Emperors”; he held the Roman Empire together through its first pandemic, the Antonine Plague.  If that reminds you of yourself, carry on.
