Its endbands and bookmark are goatskin. The book is half-cloth, covered with Dubletta book cloth from the Netherlands, and its boards are wrapped washi paper that was hand-marbled by Jack Cooney in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The talisman in this book is a 20th Century railroad token from a French Chambre of Commerce. The first railroad line in France opened in 1827, the the country continues to lay new high speed rail lines.
