This book’s endbands and bookmark are goatskin.Its boards are wrapped in paper that was hand marbled by Katherine Brett at Payhembury Papers in Migdale, Southerland, Scotland, and its spine is covered in Alran French goatskin that was processed at Rocky Mountain Leather Supply in Sandy, Utah.
The talisman in this book is a 19th century art school medal from France. Paris boasted two world-renowned art schools in the 19th century, the state-sponsored Beaux Arts, still in operation, and the private Académie Julian, which closed it doors in 1968.
