This archival, hand-sewn journal/sketchbook is made from 100 gsm, antique white Hahnemühle Ingres mouldmade paper from Dassel, Germany since 1584, sewn with Irish linen thread in the linked pattern that was developed by the ancient Copts. This stitch allows the book to lay open easily at any page.

This book’s endbands are red goatskin, and its bookmark is Saffiano goatskin.  Its boards are wrapped in paper that was hand-marbled by Betty Caponi in Monte San Giusto, Italy, and its spine is covered in Saffiano goatskin, the finish preferred by the Italian house Prada.

The talisman in this book is a WWI era French award for charitable gardening.  Its obverse reads: Fondation Fabre-Luce Centre Horticole pour Orphelins de la Guerre. Gardening makes the world a better place.
