At Album
This archival, hand-sewn album/scrapbook is made from 100 gsm, antique rose Hahnemühle Ingres mouldmade paper from Dassel, Germany, made on the same site since 1584. It is sewn with Irish linen thread in a modified pamphlet stitch that leaves room between each gathering to accommodate pasted in pages/objects.
The book’s boards are wrapped in paper that was hand-marbled by Katherine Brett at Payhembury Papers in Migdale, Southerland, Scotland, and its spine is fabricated from goatskin from Landwerlen Leathers in Indianapolis.
The talisman in this book is an @ key from a vintage typewriter. The @ sign, made popular by various social media, used to be an obscure symbol signifying the individual price for items sold in lots, such as “12 apples @ 25 cents each.”
